Dahlia Closeup with Warm Colors
I love the structure of these dahlias, with intricate patterns in the petals. This one even feels autumn themed though it was shot in July of this year. Thanks to Love’n Fresh Flower farm in Philadelphia PA which is an organically managed urban flower farm, for allowing me to stalk around their grounds. Fall Shroom
This magical mushroom (not that kind) enjoys the colorful shade of the fall canopy high above. Mushrooms are always great subjects to shoot, but they seem to have a little something extra in autumn. Bowman's Hill Wildflower Preserve, Bucks County PA.
Fern Fiddlehead
A Fern Fiddlehead (which is a great name for a cartoon character) unfurls in the spring on the forest floor at Bowman's Hill Wildflower Preserve, Bucks County, PA. Some varieties of these can be harvested and eaten.

Red Columbine Flower
A Red Columbine flower in the woods at Pennypack Ecological Trust, Huntingdon Valley, PA. It was a tough flower to shoot, especially handheld. Focus stack of 4 photos to get the entire flower in focus.
Bloodroot Flower
One of my favorite spring wildflowers, the name bloodroot is thought to come from the red juice from the underground stem, which was used by Native Americans as a dye for baskets, clothing, and war paint. The flowers only last a few weeks. This was an eleven shot focus stack handheld. The red in the background is from the sun shining on the dead leaves of the forest floor. Lost and Found
I was looking to give a size comparison for these bluet flowers by placing my wedding ring near them for another photo I took of the flowers, but ended up really liking the image on its own. Shot at Bowman's Hill Wildflower Preserve, Bucks County, PA.
Forget me Not
Wonderful Forget Me Not flowers in the garden at Churchville Nature Preserve, Churchville, Bucks County, PA. These flowers almost look like they’re made of paper.
Stiff Blue Eyed Grass
Tiny blue flower of Stiff Blue Eyed Grass from late spring. The thin leaves of the plant look like grass, but I believe it is a species of Iris. Easy to miss at such a small size, but they are nice looking flowers.
Ice World
A frozen soap bubble on a six degree winter day. It landed on the needles of a shrub, and froze in place. When life gives you arctic temperatures, make frozen soap bubbles. Horsham PA-US

Inter Dimensional
A close up of a Fig Buttercup seems to occupy another dimension, with the sun lighting up the petals against an dark background spotted with bokeh from other flowers.
Blooming Ball

Early Spring Color
A bunch of buttercups litter the grass in the first days of Spring. Always one of the first flowers to bloom at this time of year, the tiny Fig Buttercup is an invasive species that can take over large swaths of ground, overwhelming native species of flower. Newtown, Bucks County, PA-US.

Christmas Spirits
Some Christmas bokeh floats above a seasonal candle, fueled by holiday lights. Brought to you by a shallow depth of field and my favorite macro lens.
Bloodroot
Sanguinaria canadensis, known as bloodroot, is a perennial, herbaceous flowering plant native to eastern North America. Tough going for wildflowers so far this year, as we have had temperature swings of 40 degrees fahrenheit from day to day. This was taken on an 85 degree day, and 24 hours later we had temperatures in the 30's with high winds. March did not go out like a lamb this year. Tyler State {ark, Newtown, PA-USA.
