Schofield Ford Covered Bridge in Autumn

Schofield Ford Covered Bridge in the peak of last year's autumn. I know, I have taken a lot of photos of this local landmark. Located in Tyler State Park, Newtown, Bucks County, PA, this bridge is used by hikers and horseback riders to cross the Neshaminy Creek. The bridge was originally built in 1873, and then rebuilt in 1997 after an arson fire in 1991 destroyed the structure. The rebuilding process followed the original specifications, which included having the exterior remain unpainted, and used native hemlock and oak in its reconstruction. Sunset on Wildflowers

The tail end of a nice summer sunset over a field of wildflowers, which were mostly Black-eyed Susans (Rudbeckia hirta), at Tyler State Park, Newtown, PA-US. This was 2 exposures using a tripod and my Rokinon 14mm wide angle lens, manual merged in Photoshop CS5. I have been wanting to try this type of shot for a while now, and living a stone's throw away from a large park like Tyler has provided me some opportunities to learn with plenty of good locations for sunsets.

The Cold Walk Forward: Black and White

A B&W version of a previous photograph, I really liked how the monotone worked with the lighting and the wooden beams. This image was featured in the January/February 2020 edition Pennsylvania Magazine. The covered bridge at Tyler State Park provides some shelter before taking the cold path ahead. Clock at Yardley Borough Hall

A deserted downtown Yardley in Pennsylvania on a beautiful spring day during the pandemic, with the signature clock in the front. Great town, can't wait to go back and check the restaurant scene. Taken when we ventured off of the Delaware and Lehigh Trail which is part of the Delaware Canal State Park in Southeast Pennsylvania.

Autumn Fallen

The Olde Church of Saint Andrew

The Olde Church of Saint Andrew is a small but picturesque church on Sycamore Street, Newtown, Bucks County, PA. This was during the so called Beaver Moon a few weeks back, and when I saw the sky I thought to run down the street and see if I could get this building in a night shot with the moon. And yes, it was no fun to remove all of the powerlines that were visible in front of the church, but I am happy to have been able to get rid of them with little trace of them left. Horseback Riders Taking in the Fall Colors

Two horseback riders take an easy stroll through the fall foliage at Tyler State Park, Bucks County PA. I was glad to get some photos done on this day, as a wind storm came through a few days later, removing most of the remaining leaves and ushering in much cooler temperatures. It was another good autumn in Southeastern Pennsylvania.

Fonthill Castle

A moody winter photo of Fonthill Castle in Doylestown, PA. It was the home of archeologist Henry Chapman Mercer, and was built between 1908 and 1912. It is a beautiful structure, and worth a visit if you are in the area. Doylestown, Bucks County, PA

The Tree at the End of a Summer Day

A single tree in a large field catches the last of the sun on a beautiful summer evening. A quick hike to the location revealed that my tripod plate screw was missing, so I was able to hold the camera down on to the tripod with my hands. I was able to hold it steady enough to get two exposures, and merged them in Photoshop. Tyler State Park, Newtown PA-US.

Soldiers Graves at Washington Crossing

Soldiers Graves, at Washington Crossing Historic park, is a short walk from Thompson-Neely House, across the Delaware Canal where an unknown number of Continental soldiers who died during the December 1776 encampment in Bucks County are buried. The Thompson-Neely House served as a temporary regimental army hospital during Washington’s winter campaign of 1776/1777. Ill and injured soldiers were brought to this home of the Thompson and Neely families for medical treatment and recovery. A young officer from Virginia named James Monroe, who was seriously injured during the First Battle of Trenton, convalesced here. In 1817, he became the fifth president of the United States. Wounded with Monroe was William Washington, a distant cousin of the commander-in-chief. He too recovered at this location.

After the Rain

A rainbow appears at the tail end of a brief rainstorm (which was still under way when the photo was taken). I was waiting the storm out while on a walk, and saw the sun getting ready to shine through as the rain fell. I ran to a nearby field while attaching the wide angle lens, hoping to see a nice rainbow with a decent natural setting, but this was more than I expected. It was just a surreal scene.
